The world's thinnest CD player
All the fuss about the thickness of MP3 CP players started with
iRiver. However, all this ended with fuss ended with the introduction
of the iMP-550 with a thickness of 13.7mm, making it the worlds
thinnest CD player.
Breaking the 55 hour continuous play time barrier, iRiver
reached 55 hours
iRiver continued to use the Risc CPU. Despite this fact iRiver was
able to reach a continuous play time of 55 hours, which is about
twice the length of previous models.
Classy design with magnesium diecasting
The iMP-550 SlimX has used magnesium diecasting for its entire outer
casing making the device more durable, scratch-resistant, very light
and classy in design.
Battery recharge or recharge after complete discharge of
battery while playing music
Many iRiver fans have asked for this particular function. Now, you
can recharge your battery while playing your device. Not only that
but you can also completely discharge your battery before recharging
and continue listening to music during the process.
iRiver's anti-skip technology measures in the units of minutes
The iMP-550 has a 15-minute(900 seconds) anti skip technology and
the iRiver's Shock Free Mode(iRiver anti skip algorithm) has been
strengthened even more. The iMP-550's anti skip is 15 minutes(900
seconds) for MP3's and 5 minutes(320 seconds) for regular audio
CD's.
iRiver Shock Free Function : This function, designed to counteract
the rythmic movements of the human body when carrying the device,
enables the device to continuously read and output data. This is
a unique anti skip technology from iRiver.
iRiver's choice for better sound quality, Xtreme EQ
In increasing the low-frequency sounds, distortions in the high-frequency
range may occur. In order to solve this problem, iRiver has developed
Xtreme EQ which minimizes this distortion and enriches the low-frequency
sounds. Each of the 5 frequency bands can be adjusted from -12dB
to +12dB by units of 3dB.
The Optical Out function: a response to the demands of iRiver
fans
With the Optical Out function, the iMP-550 can be connected to other
audio players such as MD players. Throught the Optical Out function,
digital music or data can be transferred with no loss.
Reduction of mechanical noise with the Etiquette function
The Etiquette function efficiently orders the files into physical
addresses and switches the tag information to off and thus reducing
mechanical noises that is emitted when CD players read the CD. Now
you can enjoy your music anywhere, even at the library.
39-language supported remote control graphic LCD
The iMP-550 SlimX uses a multi-language supported graphic LCD on
its remote control. Also, with the inclusion of a jog switch, searching
through music files has become easier.
